Educational Background
Emmy attended Oregon State University from 1982 to 1984, however she graduated from the University of Oregon in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. In 1993 she obtained a Master In Teaching credential  from Washington State University. Emmy maintains both a K-12 Art education as well as a Career & Technical Education teaching certificate.Work Experience
Emmy worked for two years right out of college for The Forman School. This private boarding school in Litchfield Connecticut, caters to a dyslexic population of high school age students. At The Forman School she worked in a state-of-the-art writing lab designed and developed by the late great Richard Wanderman. In her second year, she developed a Graphic Design class and curriculum. After a break from the educational setting, she worked for three years as a graphic artist at Hanlon Brown Design in Portland Oregon. In 1996 She returned to the world of education as high school art and photography teacher at Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground Washington. She started the Digital Photography program in 2001 and taught courses in Printmaking, Mixed Art Media and Graphic Design.

A New Adventure
After 24 years in the educational setting, Emmy set her sites on a new path and direction as an independent artist. She utilizes the name “sQuiRRel Power” to promote an energetic and inquisitive lifestyle for all like empowered women. She continues to explore her passion for relief printmaking as well as love for cycling, adventure and the outdoors.
